Smiling When Your Frustrated

After a wonderful time with family over Christmas in I headed back to Saint Vincent. Actually the flight was something I totally dreaded.

Not because of the length of the flight…..

but because I had to stop over in Barbados

Now I personally don’t have a problem with Barbados since it’s a beautiful country filled with wonderful people. Their airport is a different story 😦 Anyone who has visited there will tell you why it’s frustrating, but the greatest annoyance for me is my plane to SVG is always delayed.

and yes I mean ALWAYS delayed!

Life is going to be filled with frustrations for all of us. Situations that will test our patience and sanctification. But with the Lord’s help even those can be used for His glory.

Because these are EXCELLENT opportunities to control our emotions

The apostle Paul while locked in a Roman prison makes this amazing statement. “For I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content” (Philippians 4:11). This doesn’t mean that Paul was excited about being in that prison cell, but he had a peace from God even in that prison. His peace and calmness was not connected to circumstances.

God offers that kind of peace to us today

But we can only experience it through frustrating circumstances.

God gives grace to deal with delayed flights, baggage checks, over-priced food, and every other frustration of life. And each time we enter into a frustrating season He proves faithful to us.

I’ll never enjoy the Barbados airport.

but I can smile there because God gives grace.
